Luca Signorelli, The Blessed led to heaven, Cappella di San Brizio, Duomo, Orvieto, 1299-1502

Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever [NRSV, Daniel 12:3].

25th Sunday after Pentecost

10:00 am Choral Eucharist
Normand Richard, cantor

The music for this morning’s service constitutes an “organ mass” in which phrases of the liturgical chants are shared between cantor and organ. We feature the Livre d’orgue de Montréal, the largest manuscript collection of 18th century French organ pieces in the world, brought to Montreal by a young organist cleric in 1724.
